C#/.NET Software Engineer III– Legacy Modernization Remote- CST/EST Hrs. 8-month contract Pay Rate: $65.00 - $70.00per hr. Our client is seeking a Software Engineer 3 to remediate critical vulnerabilities and modernize legacy applications. This is a hands-on software engineering role focused primarily on backend development, legacy .NET remediation, and migration to modern .NET Core/OpenShift environments. Key Responsibilities Analyze and remediate critical/high vulnerabilities in existing applications. Work hands-on with legacy .NET Framework code, including applications running on .NET Framework 4.7.x. Develop, test, and deploy code changes through the full remediation lifecycle. Modernize legacy applications by migrating .NET Framework to .NET Core. Support migration of applications from Windows/IIS environments to on-prem OpenShift. Develop and maintain backend services using C#, .NET, EF Core, and SQL Server. Contribute to React-based UI development as needed. Collaborate with engineering and security teams to resolve application vulnerabilities. Required Skills: Five (5) years of experience Hands-on experience with both .NET Framework and .NET Core. Strong C# development experience. Experience with SQL/SQL Server and EF Core. Experience with React and JavaScript. Experience working with legacy applications, preferably .NET Framework 4.7.x. Ability to troubleshoot, modify, test, and deploy application code. Preferred / Nice-to-Have OpenShift Kubernetes Containerization Harness CI/CD pipeline experience Vulnerability remediation or application security experience Important: Dedicated cybersecurity or vulnerability-project experience is not required. Strong .NET Framework and .NET Core experience is the priority. Lead experience is not required. Technical Environment 65–70% backend / 30–35% frontend C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, EF Core SQL Server React/JavaScript Windows/IIS On-prem Red Hat OpenShift Some AWS applications, but AWS is not the primary focus
