Backend Engineer (Python) Developer

About the Role We're looking for a Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable server-side systems. You'll work across our data layer, APIs, and cloud infrastructure, with strong ownership of deployment pipelines and system reliability. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful/GraphQL APIs using Python (Django/Flask/FastAPI) Design and optimize relational database schemas and queries in MySQL and PostgreSQL Build and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP (compute, storage, networking, IAM) Own end-to-end deployment processes, including containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS) Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar) for automated testing and deployment Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code following best practices Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement fixes Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver end-to-end features Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical documentation Required Skills & Experience Strong proficiency in Python with experience building production backend services Hands-on experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL — schema design, indexing, query optimization Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Practical experience with deployment automation and containerization (Docker; Kubernetes a plus) Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines Solid understanding of REST API design, authentication (OAuth/JWT), and security best practices Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows Strong debugging, problem-solving, and system design skills Nice to Have Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS) Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) Exposure to microservices architecture Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch) Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience 6+ years of professional backend development experience Pay: Rs200,000.00 - Rs300,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
