About this Role

JOB TITLE: Award Transition Project Manager

QUANTA COMPANY: Quanta Government Solutions, LLC

DEPARTMENT: Preconstruction Operations

LOCATION: Remote with site travel

REPORTS TO: Director, Preconstruction Operations

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an organized, hands-on project manager to run the bridge between winning a federal job and building it. From notice of award to the day construction operations takes the job, this person owns the transition schedule and every deadline in it, working with the vertical strategic lead, the Director of Construction, and our Contracts Manager. The goal is simple: every new job starts contracted and set up, with nothing left hanging from the bid.

What You'll Do

  • Run award intake within 24 hours and build one schedule of every contract deadline, including bonds, insurance, Accident Prevention Plan, Quality Control plan, baseline schedule, consent to subcontract, and submittal register.
  • Receive the sourcing file and quote package from the Procurement Manager at award, confirm it is complete (returning any gaps to Procurement the same day), and use it as the starting point for every subcontract and affiliate work order.
  • Drive every subcontract and affiliate work order to execution with the Contracts Manager, starting from the quotes gathered during the bid. Contracts drafts; you track and chase to signature.
  • Collect what each subcontractor owes before mobilizing, including prequalification, bonds, insurance, and required plans.
  • Stand up and own the commitments register through contract execution, then hand executed commitments to the Procurement Manager, who owns material and long-lead buyout through delivery.
  • Build the turnover package from the estimate and lead the handoff meeting with the vertical’s Director of Construction.
  • Coordinate job setup with Finance and PMO so the first charge lands on a fully set-up job.
  • Hold the handoff, when anything required is missing, escalate to the Director the same day, and proceed only with written waiver approval from the Director and the Director of Construction.
  • Improve the transition checklist after every job and train the people who come in behind you.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in federal construction project management, project engineering, or project startup.
  • Startup experience on USACE, NAVFAC, DOE, or comparable federal construction projects, ideally supporting Energy and Department of War work.
  • Working knowledge of federal subcontract requirements, including flowdowns, prime Miller Act bonds and subcontractor bonds, and Davis-Bacon, enough to know what complete looks like.
  • Ability to build and run a Primavera P6 schedule.
  • Strong organization and follow-through across multiple awards at once.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with project teams, subcontractors, and internal partners.
  • Procore and Costpoint experience is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based, with regular travel to project sites during award and mobilization.

Prepare your application

Use the description above to assess your fit for Quanta Services. This checklist is guidance from Resumize, rather than additional requirements from the employer. Imported listings can be shortened or change after collection, so confirm the complete description and current availability before sending an application.

Match requirements to evidence

Identify the responsibilities and skills the employer explicitly names. For each important requirement, choose one example from your work, education, training, or projects. Explain what you did, how you did it, and what changed as a result. Include a measurable outcome when you can support it. If you lack a requirement, describe related experience accurately instead of adding an unfamiliar skill to your resume.

Put the most relevant examples near the top of your resume. Keep job titles, dates, qualifications, and contact details consistent across your application materials. Use the employer’s terminology when it describes your experience accurately; a copied list of keywords does not explain your contribution. A short, specific bullet is easier to review than a paragraph that mixes several unrelated duties.

Check the working arrangement

Confirm the location, schedule, employment type, and any eligibility requirements on the employer’s site. A remote label does not establish worldwide eligibility or flexible hours. If compensation, benefits, equipment, travel, or contract duration are missing from this listing, write down your questions for the recruiter. Do not assume details from another opening at the same company apply to this role.

Review before submitting

Follow the employer’s requested file format and application instructions. Open your exported resume and check that its text is selectable, its sections read in order, and its links work. Proofread names, dates, and contact information. Share confidential work samples only when you have permission, and use an anonymized example when necessary.

Submit through a trusted employer or recruiting destination. If the original listing has disappeared, search the employer’s careers page for the title rather than assuming the vacancy remains open. Save the application date, job reference, and the version of your resume you sent. Those details help you prepare for a later conversation and avoid submitting conflicting information through several job boards.

Review your resume for writing and readability feedback, or browse other openings if this opportunity is unavailable.
