ECD plays a critical role as it adds value to Bain's case teams globally by supporting them with analytics and research solutioning across all industries, specific domains for corporate cases, client development, private equity diligence or Bain intellectual property. The BCN comprises of Consulting Services, Knowledge Services and Shared Services.
Who you will work with
BCN PEG CoE provides specialized support to global teams across the private equity value chain, enabling clients to make key investment decisions. Our expertise lies in addressing critical diligence questions through a range of products such as survey analytics, digital diagnostic, workforce analytics and disruption assessment. Our teams work in a fast-paced environment delivering consistent and impactful results at scale. In the last decade, we have witnessed an exponential growth, reaching >250 members today from ~10 members in 2013. We operate from 4 locations – 2 in India, 1 in Poland, and 1 in Mexico and operate across all 3 regions (EMEA, Americas and APAC). We work across industries, including Technology, Consumer Products, Retail and Healthcare. BCN PEG provides an opportunity to solve challenging business problems in a dynamic set-up working closely with global Bain teams, acting as a thought-partner and bringing deep technical expertise.
What you’ll do
As an Associate (Tech) at BCN PEG, you will bring specialized technical knowledge to the product development of internal tools, as well as help in end-client delivery of cases. You will:
Design, build, and maintain responsive, user-friendly web applications with a strong focus on front-end developmentDevelop modern, interactive front-end interfaces using React (with Vite), Tailwind CSS, and Framer Motion to deliver polished, performant, and animated user experiencesBuild and integrate Node.js back-end services and APIs, including the ability to stand up a simple Node.js application independently from scratchTranslate design mockups and business requirements into clean, maintainable, and reusable componentsCollaborate with consultants and case teams to translate business problems into practical web applicationsEvaluate and experiment with emerging front-end frameworks, libraries, and tools for potential adoptionSupport supervisors in work planning, solution design, and brainstorming for product initiativesEnsure applications are robust, secure, well-documented, and aligned with Bain’s engineering and governance standardsCommunicate technical concepts and insights clearly to non-technical stakeholdersProactively drive self-learning in modern web development and emerging front-end technologiesContribute to knowledge sharing, documentation, and internal training within the PEG and broader BCN community
About you
Must-have skills:
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScriptHands-on experience building front-end applications with React, using Vite as the build toolProficiency with Tailwind CSS for styling and Framer Motion for animation and interaction designStrong understanding of modern front-end architecture, component design, and responsive UI principlesWorking knowledge of Node.js, with the ability to build a simple Node.js application independently from scratchFamiliarity with REST APIs and integrating external servicesWorking knowledge of data structures, basic algorithms, and software engineering best practicesExperience using version control systems such as GitAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirementsStrong problem-solving and analytical thinking skillsExcellent English communication skills with the ability to explain technical ideas clearlyGood-to-have skills:
Familiarity with other front-end frameworks such as Vue, Svelte, or AngularSome background in PythonBasic awareness of AI and LLM-based tools and APIs Basic understanding of application deployment and hosting workflowsKnowledge of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)Experience building internal tools, prototypes, or dashboardsAbility to write clear technical documentation and usage guides
Educational qualification & Professional experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldStrong academic credentials, analytical ability, and problem-solving skillsWork experience range: Undergraduate degree: 2 - 4 years of experience in software development, AI engineering, or related rolesPostgraduate degree: 0 - 2 years of relevant experiencePrior exposure to consulting, analytics, or business problem-solving environments is preferred but not mandatory
