Job Description

Pixel Systems is currently supporting an established London client focused on modernizing their internal operations. We are looking for an Associate Data Analyst to join our small team and help turn raw, messy data into organized systems that the client can actually use. This is a fully remote position where you will assist in moving data out of fragmented spreadsheets and into a centralized database, ensuring that every record is accurate and properly formatted along the way.

About us
Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency. We do not build flashy social media apps or marketing websites that prioritize style over substance. Instead, we focus on the practical tools that keep businesses running: admin consoles, custom CRM integrations, and complex database migrations. Our clients usually come to us when their existing systems have become too disorganized to manage or when they need different software tools to communicate with each other.
We believe that working code is much more valuable than a perfect plan that never gets finished. Our approach is direct: we provide fixed quotes, perform weekly demos, and hand over every piece of code and documentation when the project is done. We use stable, well-tested technologies like Postgres, Node, and React. We are a team of professionals who enjoy solving real operational headaches and building software that lasts.

The role
In this role, your main task is to help our team understand and organize client information. Because we are currently working with an established London client to overhaul their reporting, you will be right in the middle of that transition. You will spend your time examining large CSV files and database exports to find errors, duplicates, or missing information. Once the data is clean, you will help map it to new database structures so the developers can import it into the new tools we are building.
You will also help create basic reports and dashboards. Our clients need to know things like inventory levels, shipment times, or user engagement metrics. You will write queries to pull this information and organize it into clear, simple views. This is a paid position, and we offer a salary that is competitive for an entry level role in the current market. As a fully remote team member, you will communicate mostly through written updates and weekly video syncs.

What you bring
  • A logical approach to problem solving and a high level of comfort with numbers and patterns.
  • The ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks like data auditing and manual cleaning.
  • Basic knowledge of spreadsheets, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where the requirements are clear but the data itself might be messy.
  • Strong written communication skills, especially when explaining data discrepancies to the rest of the team.
  • A preference for simple and functional solutions over complicated ones.
  • The ability to manage your own time while working remotely without needing constant supervision.
  • Reliability and a commitment to meeting the deadlines we set for our client demos.

Helpful background
  • Familiarity with SQL for basic data retrieval and filtering.
  • Some exposure to databases like Postgres or MySQL.
  • Basic understanding of how APIs work to move information between applications.
  • General awareness of GitHub or similar tools for tracking changes to documents or code.
  • Any experience or projects involving data visualization tools or basic dashboarding.
  • An interest in learning how software products are built from the database up.

Working at Pixel Systems
Working here is a bit different from a typical corporate environment. We do not have layers of middle management or long meetings about strategy. We focus on shipping work every week. Since we are a fully remote company, we value clear documentation and direct communication. You will work directly with our senior developers and designers, which provides a great opportunity to see how professional software is built and maintained.
We value stability and predictability. We do not chase every new technical trend: we use tools that we know will work for our clients in the long run. We take pride in building the boring but essential parts of the internet. If you enjoy knowing that your work helped a warehouse manager track their stock better or helped an operations team save hours of manual entry, you will fit in well here. We are a small team that likes to get things done without unnecessary drama.
