Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to lead our accounts payable operations with energy and precision. This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire invoice processing cycle, ensuring financial compliance, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal teams. Duties
Lead and supervise the accounts payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments.
Oversee invoice entry, validation, coding, and approval workflows using financial systems such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle.
Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.
Manage vendor relationships by resolving discrepancies, responding to inquiries, and maintaining accurate vendor records within systems like Paychex, ADP, or Ceridian.
Reconcile accounts payable ledger with the general ledger through detailed analysis using Excel data analysis techniques like VLOOKUP functions and spreadsheets.
Implement accounts payable automation initiatives to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Conduct month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling data entry and processing tasks with precision.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as HRIS for benefits administration and payroll management to ensure seamless financial operations.
Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to financial software systems like QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
Extensive experience in accounting and finance roles with a focus on accounts payable management.
Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger accounting, and journal entries.
Proficiency in financial software such as Workday, SAP, Oracle Financials, UltiPro, Kronos, or similar systems; experience with ADP or Ceridian payroll platforms is highly desirable.
Demonstrated expertise in Excel formulas (including VLOOKUP), spreadsheet management, data analysis, and reporting tools.
Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal controls within an accounting environment.
Experience working in public accounting or governmental accounting environments is advantageous.
Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation and identifying discrepancies promptly.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and invoice processing tasks.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
