Job Description Location: Manhattan, NY Remote Role: Senior Frontend Engineer (3 positions) Tech Stack: React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS Type: Contract (6 months to start, likely extended) Rate: $60-70 per hour Eligibility: USC only Summary: Major TV Network seeks a Senior Frontend Engineer for a contract role building consumer weather web applications. Focus on mobile web engineering, delivering fast, responsive experiences including real-time forecasts, interactive maps, and AI-driven features. Responsibilities Design, build, and ship features using React and Next.js with a mobile-first approach Collaborate with product managers, designers, and data teams Own performance profiling and optimization targeting Core Web Vitals Build responsive, accessible UI components Integrate with backend APIs and real-time data streams Contribute to frontend architecture decisions and code standards Qualifications Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, strong command of React and Next.js Deep understanding of mobile web performance, responsive design, and low-bandwidth constraints Strong command of modern CSS (layout, animation, responsive design) Experience with REST APIs, real-time data, and client-side state management (React Query, Zustand, Redux) Hands-on experience optimizing Core Web Vitals with performance tools Proficient in Git-based workflows Nice to Have Experience with geospatial data, mapping libraries (Mapbox, Google Maps), or data visualization Familiarity with AI feature integration (personalization, LLM-backed experiences) Experience with Tailwind CSS or utility-first CSS framework Company: Major Cable TV network
